
Paul Gulda
* 1961, Vienna, son of the pianist Friedrich Gulda and the actress Paola Loew.
Performances since 1979, international career as a chamber musician and soloist from 1982. He has also gained experience as a wind player, conductor and improviser, as well as collaborating with (folk) musicians from all over the world, actors, writers and painters.
His interest in sound and style also led him to the fortepiano, organ, harpsichord and clavichord. Since 2018, many performances of Bach’s complete Well-Tempered Clavier I.
Around 30 CD releases. Mentor and teacher, masterclasses in many countries;
Compositions for the stage, vocal compositions.
Involvement in civil society (REFUGIUS Rechnitz). Based on this, musical projects with a focus on minorities and cultural dialog. Scattered essays and publications in programs, journals, media.
