Bojidara Kouzmanova-Vladar was born in 1977 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and received her musical education at the National Music School “Ljubomir Pipkow” in Sofia with Prof. Lydia Radionova, as well as at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Pichler.

As a soloist, she has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic, Basel New Symphony Orchestra, and the Montevideo Philharmonic, among others. Her notable concert highlights include her debut at the Wiener Musikverein (2019) with Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto and her performance at the Wiener Konzerthaus (2021) with Alban Berg’s Chamber Concerto.

In chamber music, she is a member of the Kreisler Trio Wien and collaborates with ensembles such as the Ensemble Wiener Collage and the Ensemble des 21. Jahrhunderts. Her discography includes over 25 CDs, including award-winning Brahms recordings (Pasticcio Prize, 2016).

Since 2002, she has been teaching violin at the Bach Music School Vienna, and since 2022, she has been a violin and chamber music instructor at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music Vienna. She also conducts international masterclasses.

Her interests range from general music history to the history of contemporary music, with a focus on women’s participation, as well as logotherapy, travel, reading, and writing.

Kouzmanova-Vladar plays a violin by Matthieu Devuyst (2017) and is known for her passionate and virtuosic performance style.
